In this topic I will tell you a simple trick that it will help you find the flaws into your mix. Have you ever wondered why we are able to find the mistakes in someone’s mix but we do the same “stupid” mistakes to our mixes too?
We all know that our ears get tired during mixing, but not only our ears. Our eyes get distracted from all the colors and the meters and our brain can’t “focus” to what we want to achieve. Also when we “disable” one sense our remaining senses work more. Think about it…
The only thing we have when we hear to someone’s mix is the audio. No buttons, no meters, nothing. Just audio. That’s the only thing we have to find out if a mix rocks or sucks. And we do it pretty well. So why shouldn’t we use it in our mixing process?
